The cost of internet access was highlighted in a 2020 report published by SFU STAR and 411 Seniors Centre Society, titled In Community: Information and Referral Services for Seniors in British Columbia. SFU STAR was instrumental in providing 411 with the global context of internet pricing and the view that in this new digital age internet should be seen as a basic utility. This supported the human rights context that is detailed in the In Community report which formed the basis of this initiative. STAR and 411 are currently working on an impact case study, interviewing all that were involved in the TELUS Internet for Good initiative. Check back often to view the case study.
411 Seniors Board President Marion Pollack was interviewed in an April 2022 CBC News article on the initiative here.
