AGE-WELL Annual Conference 2024
SFU STAR Institute attended the AGE-WELL Annual Conference in Edmonton, Alberta this year from October 23-24, 2024. The conference was attended by researchers, industry leaders, care providers & organizations, trainees, older adults, caregivers & government representatives and provided a fruitful opportunity to network, collaborate and explore how the sector is transforming aging together. As with past AGE-WELL annual conferences, SFU STAR was part of the conference planning team and designed AGE-WELL's conference materials.
SFU STAR Institute presented a poster on it's AGE-WELL catalyst project ICE-TEA: International Consortium on Ethics in Technology and Aging. The poster presents some of the preliminary learnings and recommendations of ICE-TEA and outlines practical pathways and mechanisms for ensuring ethically responsible research across the whole AgeTech research and innovation pipeline. See poster HERE.
SFU STAR will be publishing a report on the ICE-TEA project in late 2024 - stay tuned.
In addition, SFU STAR Instiute supported the development of an AGE-WELL Publications Spotlight booth at the conference, which showcased exciting AGE-WELL publications and new AGE-WELL Network member and collaborator books and e-books. There were opportunities for conference attendees to meet with authors.
