REEL 61 COMMENTARY
1. Train passes right at beginning of take, clear and close. The horn blows regularly between 0'28" and 1'10" slowly disappearing in the distance where waterfall is audible. In fact, train emerges from and fades back into waterfall ambience.2/3. The falls recorded at 200 yds. Very heavy roar. Some high frequency distortion but almost inaudible. There is a resonant frequency of about middle "c" on this recording.
4. More of the fractured French.
5. At 5 p.m. at the corner of Sherbrooke & St. Laurent. Wet pavement.
6. Approx. 100 yards from the bell tower. Peace Tower chimes ringing noon (1'20"-2'30"). At 2'50" the noon gun goes off, producing interesting echoes. Car doors slam at 4'00".
7. Recorded right inside the tower, huge bells right beside the microphones. Some distortion.
