Range

Acoustics / Electroacoustics

A continuous section of the possible values of a parameter.

For instance, the singing range refers to that part of the frequency continuum which can be realized by a singer; the audio range refers to the audio frequency range between 20 and 20,000 Hz which is audible by humans.

See: Bass, Treble.

A range of frequencies is also called a spectrum, as in the audio spectrum or radio spectrum.

See: Band, Dynamic Range, Infrasonic, Ultrasonic.
