Despite some claims
to the contrary, the perception of height cannot be
consistently reproduced in a mono or stereo recording,
but (as in the case of the stairwell simulation) it can
be strongly suggested in binaural recordings. Other impressions of height in a recording may simply be suggested by the presence of high frequencies, such as birdsong. |
