Requirements:

  1. Utilize the microgrant funds and submit a final or interim report by Feb. 15, 2024 (project activities may continue beyond this date)
  2. Be led by a youth aged 15 to 30 at the time of applying; the lead youth must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or refugee in Canada.

Grant Description:

The Ocean Action Grant is a microgrant that will provide youth across Canada with up to $3000 in funding to lead an individual or collaborative project that contributes to positive change for the environment. Projects must address climate change, plastic & pollution, or overfishing either directly (ex. reducing reliance on single-use plastics, restoring habitats, improving access to sustainable seafood, etc.) or indirectly (ex. encouraging nature connectedness, promoting accessibility & inclusivity in environmental spaces, raising awareness of environmental issues, combating climate anxiety & eco-grief, etc.)
