SFU moves away from in-person instruction
Message from Andrew Petter, President and Vice-Chancellor, Simon Fraser University
Following information and advice about COVID-19 from regional and provincial health officers, SFU will be moving away from in-person instruction beginning next week for the remainder of the term. Although the risk in BC remains low, we are taking appropriate steps to ensure continuity for students in a manner consistent with the advice of the Provincial Health Officer to maximize social distancing. All SFU campuses will remain open.
Instructors will receive more detailed information from Dr. Jon Driver, Vice President Academic and Provost. SFU’s Centre for Educational Excellence has created tools to help instructors review their options and is here to support instructors to continue course delivery. Instructors should work with them directly.
Students will hear from their instructors on next steps. For information on how to access support services for students, go to http://www.sfu.ca/students/support/
Please continue to monitor our COVID-19 FAQ page at www.sfu.ca/covid19
Thank you for your patience and support in this challenging time.
