Introduction

SAS/CALC Software

SAS/CALC software provides all-purpose spreadsheet capabilities for information management. In addition to standard spreadsheet features, SAS/CALC software has an important advantage: its direct link to the SAS System. To define relationships among the rows and columns of the spreadsheet, you can use cell formulas or SAS/CALC software's own programming language (similar to the DATA step language). SAS/CALC software can transform SAS data sets into spreadsheets and create SAS data sets from spreadsheets for further processing by other SAS procedures or a DATA step.

You can build two- and three-dimensional spreadsheet applications using features such as formulas, linked spreadsheets, what-if and goal-seeking analysis, and the powerful programming language. You can also review your links with the drilldown function. Function keys, the point and click and pull-down windowing enviroment, interface to SAS/AF software, and help windows make SAS/CALC software easy to use and easy to provide users with turnkey applications.
