A Musical Soirée on the banks of Deer Lake
This summer we are again presenting a musical soirée by Chemsemble, the choir composed of faculty, staff, students and retirees of the Faculties of Science and Education. The format will be similar to last year's event. (See photos.)
WHEN AND WHERE: Friday, June 25 at Evelyn and Leigh Palmer's home, 6588 Deer Lake Avenue, Burnaby, 5:30 - 9:00pm.
FOOD: SFURA members will provide a potluck supper and drinks. We are not assigning or keeping track of food items members bring. We hope that it will be somewhat evenly spread among appetizers, salads and vegetables, main courses and desserts. If not, that's ok too.
RESERVATIONS: Please respond to Evelyn by Monday, June 21. If you know of members who don't use email who wish to come, they may phone us at 604-299-3731. It will be necessary to limit attendance to 75, so reserve early.
WEATHER: The last week of June usually has fine weather. We will break up by 9:00pm while there is still daylight. Evenings can be cool here, so bring a warm jacket.
PROGRAM: (All times are approximate):
Arrive: 5:15pm - 5:30pm. Please park in the diagonal parking places across the street or in the underground or surface parking at the Shadbolt Centre. You can drop off food and drinks at the house on your way to the parking lot. Those of you who have small TV tables are encouraged to bring them.
Appetizers: 5:30 - 6:00pm
Singalong and then Chemsemble members sing: 6:00 - 7:00pm
Dinner: 7:00pm
Singalong: 8:15pm - 8:45pm
