• Women are more likely to work as workers in single-occupancy rooms than men, face unfair working conditions and low wages
• Single women face difficulty in finding housing, many not accepted by landlords or exploited for sexual favours in exchange for lower rent
• Many shelters and transition houses are not suitable or available to women with children
• 61% of Indigenous single parent families, mostly Indigenous women-led, are in core housing need.
• 73% of people experiencing homelessness in Metro Vancouver are men, 25% are women, 2% are non-binary; 33% are Indigenous.
