Reciprocal Parking

The following institutions have reciprocal parking agreements with Simon Fraser University:

  • University of British Columbia
  • University of Victoria
  • University of Northern B.C.
  • British Columbia Institute of Technology
  • University College of the Fraser Valley
  • Trinity Western University

A Reciprocal Parking Agreement exists between Simon Fraser University (SFU) and some non-private educational institutions. This agreement only allows Faculty and Staff of qualifying organizations to park free of charge at SFU for such activities as attending meetings or seminars of a departmental, academic or administrative nature between SFU and the qualifying institution, etc.

Reciprocal parking, at SFU Burnaby campus, is allowed in any of the following four (4) Visitor Parking Areas listed below. (Visitors are required to display a valid Faculty/Staff parking permit from their participating institution while parked in order to avoid SFU enforcement activities).

  1. VISITOR'S PARKADE (west side of the West mall Complex)

Directions: Drive through the left tunnel at the University's Campus Security Information Centre. Proceed through the tunnel and turn LEFT at the STOP sign. The parkade is on the left hand side and is close to the West Mall Complex). This Visitor's area has an Attendant and can provide Information to the public. This Visitor's Parkade accepts Coin Only.

  1. CONVOCATION MALL VISITOR'S AREA

    Directions: Drive under the RIGHT tunnel at the University's Campus Security Information Centre. When UNDER the tunnel, turn RIGHT and up the ramp at the entrance to the Convocation Mall Parkade. Proceed to the Visitor's area on Level 9 of the Convocation Mall. This Visitor Parking area accepts Coin OR Credit Cards only; there is NO attendant. Pay in advance at the Ticket Vending Machines.

  2. C LOT VISITOR'S AREA (VC Lot)

    Directions: Drive through the RIGHT tunnel at the University's Campus Security Information Centre. Proceed through the tunnel and turn RIGHT at the STOP sign onto University Drive East. Proceed down this roadway and keep to the RIGHT when the road splits. The Visitor's C Lot is located on the left hand side within C Lot. This Visitor Parking area accepts Coin OR Credit Cards only; there is NO attendant. Pay in advance at the Ticket Vending Machines.

  3. B LOT VISITOR'S AREA (VB Lot)

    Directions: Drive through the RIGHT tunnel at the University's Campus Security Information Centre. Proceed through the tunnel and RIGHT at the STOP sign onto University Drive East. Proceed down this roadway and keep to the LEFT when the road splits. The left road is a continuation of University Drive East. Proceed further down University Drive East and turn RIGHT at East Campus Road. Proceed down East Campus Road to the NORTH side of B Lot. The Visitor's B Lot is clearly marked. Please do NOT park in the reserved Rideshare Spaces (numbered spaces). This Visitor Parking area accepts Coin OR Credit Cards only; there is NO attendant. Pay in advance at the Ticket Vending Machines.

  4. VISITOR’S NORTH AREA (VN LOT – North of the West mall Complex)                     

    Directions: Drive through the left tunnel at the University’s Campus Security Information Centre. Proceed through the tunnel and turn LEFT at the STOP sign. The VN Lot is located on the right hand side across the street from the West mall Complex. This Visitor Parking area accepts Coin OR Credit Cards only, there in No attendant. Pay in advance at the Ticket Vending Machines.

  5. VISITOR’S NORTH AREA (VN LOT – North of the West mall Complex)                     

    Directions: Drive through the left tunnel at the University’s Campus Security Information Centre. Proceed through the tunnel and turn LEFT at the STOP sign. The VN Lot is located on the right hand side across the street from the West mall Complex. This Visitor Parking area accepts Coin OR Credit Cards only, there in No attendant. Pay in advance at the Ticket Vending Machines.
