WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO COME TO SFU?

After completing my DVM and PhD with a Collaborative Specialization in One Health at the University of Guelph, I chose to pursue my postdoctoral fellowship at SFU for its strong interdisciplinary focus and the opportunity to work with Dr. Kaylee Byers, whose expertise and leadership in One Health research aligns closely with my academic and professional aspirations.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR RESEARCH OR YOUR PROGRAM TO A FAMILY MEMBER?

I study how the health of humans, animals, and the environment are connected and how we can better manage diseases at the human-wildlife interface. My work focuses on understanding these interconnections to support decisions that protect health across species and our shared ecosystems.
