The Nanaimo Street Bridge will be closed starting August 1 to allow rebuilding of the bridge over the Grandview Cut. The current bridge must be replaced to make room underneath for the SkyTrain Millenium Line.
As of today, isolating insulators have been installed on the running wires on either side of the bridge, and the feeder cables that run over the bridge have been removed.
This will require the dieselisation of the route 7 (which never served Stanley Park!) until the bridge is rebuilt.
W/B routing from Nanaimo Station will be Nanaimo, west on Grandview, north on Victoria, east on Broadway, north on Nanaimo then regular route. Eastbound routing will be the reverse.
