News is vital in for a vibrant democracy.
News--and especially TV news--is the conduit of basic images and information, facts and values to the general public, setting the political agenda, the issues, events, and people that become part of the public’s consciousness.

Notes:
How strong is the relationship between news media and political participation? To voting specifically?
What about between the generations? Is there a difference in news media use?
If there is a difference, will Gen X be this way forever, or will they befin to vote and get informed when they start getting married, buying a house, etc.?
Is Gen X changing the way news media is used? If so, does this relate to dwindling political behaviour trends?
And, Do news media accentuate this drop in Gen X participation rates or not?
