About

Virginia Uhi is an MA Student at SFU Linguistics. She is an international student from Hong Kong. Her areas of interest are language policy and education within the sociolinguistics field. Virginia didn’t originally intend to pursue graduate studies until she came to SFU for an exchange program during Spring 2022. She became inspired by the atmosphere and the professors at SFU. Virginia felt that studying Linguistics at SFU would be an eye-opening opportunity, and she joined the MA program in Fall 2023.

With hands-on experience in roles ranging from fundraising and teaching assistantship to research and recruitment consultancy, Virginia has honed her expertise in relationship management, client confidentiality, and multilingual communications. Her passion lies in making a positive impact through engaging projects and initiatives.
