About

Laurens started his undergraduate studies in computer science, but after taking Introduction to Linguistics (LING 220), he decided to switch degrees and incorporate linguistics more. He completed his BSc in Computer Science and Linguistics at SFU in 2022 and started his MA in Linguistics the same year. He is currently working on analyzing variation in Greek past tense morphology. In his research, Laurens draws on his expertise in both linguistics and computer science to extract and analyze data from large corpora to better understand the patterns of language.
