IAT 391 PROJECTS BY WEEK
1. Tiber Island and the Republican Period of Rome
The focus of our research for this week is about the beginnings of Rome, the city before the Empire. Aside from the Myth of Romulus and Remus, which tells the story of how the city was founded, we also look into the early influences of Rome from the Latins, the Greeks, and the Etruscans. Lastly are the impressive architecture and engineering of bridges and monuments.
2. The Roman Empire + The Rome of Early Christians
3. The Renaissance in Rome + The Papal City
4. The Baroque in Rome + New Capital of Italia
The culture is flourishing, injected by ideas such as Rationalism and Fascism. Contemporary architecture and award winning cinematographic pieces present a new life to the city, fueled by magnificent fountains that flow constantly throughout Rome.
