March 02, 2012 Watch this conversation with Mi'kmaq Youth leader Ashley Julian about her experience performing in the 2010 Olympics Opening Ceremonies in Vancouver, and as one of 300 youth to participate in a two-week Aboriginal Youth Camp leading up to the Olympics. In the video, Ashley refers both to the cultural spectacle of the Opening Ceremonies and to Native protest. There is powerful controversy here, which goes to the heart of much that we are grappling with in IPinCH.
- What questions or issues do you feel these accounts point to?
- What do they tell you about the keys to strong relationships or collaborations between Peoples?
- Do they tell us important things about the appropriation of Cultural Heritage? About ethical practice?
