MA Student, Department of Anthropology, University of Toronto
Savannah is currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Sociocultural Anthropology at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Dr. Lena Mortensen. Her research interests include indigenous heritage issues in Canada, cultural tourism, identity, politics of the past, cultural resource management, appropriation and repatriation, and research ethics. She is interested in the ways in which historical representations of Indigenous peoples affect the relationship between Canadians and contemporary status or non-status Indigenous peoples, and hopes to focus on the Haudenosaunee of southwestern Ontario with the Six Nations of the Grand River.
Savannah has been working professionally for the last three years at the University of Toronto, where she also received her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology and English Literature.
