Michelle is a leadership scholar who investigates areas of Indigenous leadership, collective leadership, political leadership and Indigenous entrepreneurship. Michelle's doctoral study worked on establishing a theoretical framework for the leadership work enacted by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists in Australia. This was followed by Fulbright post doctoral study replicating the doctoral study in the United States of America interviewing First Alaskan, Native Hawaiian and American Indian artists about the intersection of their artist practice and leadership. Michelle is the Program Director of Australia’s only Indigenous entrepreneurship growth development program. The MURRA Indigenous Business Master Classes engages established businesses in a six Master Class program and has built a significant and influential alumni.
