  • Jeff Checkel has just been awarded a contract from Cambridge University Press for a volume on the transnational dynamics of civil war.  In addition, he was recently elected to serve as vice president of the Qualitative and Multi-Method Research Organized Section of the American Political Science Association.

  • June 16, 2011: Congratulations, Tamir Moustafa on winning a SSHRC grant for a project entitled "Islamic Law and Women's Rights in Egypt, Indonesia, and Pakistan". Tamir will be on leave from SFU in 2011-12 to take on the position of Visiting Fellow at the Islamic Legal Studies Program, Harvard Law School.

His commentary and analysis has appeared in the Globe and Mail and other outlets.
