Manage MFA Settings
Changing your MFA Device
If you have a new mobile device that you would like to use for multi-factor authentication, follow the instructions outlined below to change your MFA device:
Note: If you would like to switch from a mobile device to a MFA hardware token, do not follow the steps below. Please contact the IT Service Desk at its-help@sfu.ca and they will help you set up a hardware token.
Step 1. Log in to the SFU MFA Management App, using your SFU credentials.
Note: If you no longer have access to your old device, you can use one of your backup codes as your MFA code to complete the login process.
If you do not have your backup codes, please contact its-help@sfu.ca for assistance in registering a new device.
Step 2. Once you have successfully signed in, click the "Reset Registration" button at the bottom of the MFA Management App page.
Step 3. On the pop-up window, please read the instructions carefully and confirm that you would like to reset your MFA registration.
When you are ready, click "Continue" to proceed with the reset.
Step 4. If your MFA reset was successful, a "Your MFA registration has been reset" confirmation message will be shown on the screen.
Click "Continue" to log in again and go through the MFA enrollment process with your new mobile device.
For instructions on how to set up your mobile device for MFA, visit the Set up MFA page for more details.
