Secwepemc language Tlli7sa Story app introduced at the annual Secwepemc gathering in Skeetchestn

The partnership has debuted a new language tuition app based on an 18 episode, nearly 180 sentence epic story of 3 brothers and their nephew who (in chronological time some 4,500 years ago) travelled the land from Shuswap Lake along the North and South Thompson Rivers and eventually to the mid-Fraser River, vanquishing dangerous powers, naming the land, discovering and deploying ecological knowledge, and creating Indigenous laws and protocols.

The text was re-claimed, re-covered from fragments of recordings by our Skeetchestn elders, and the app includes: more than 50 stunning illustrations by an artist who worked with the elders; recorded audio; annotations; maps; and, eventually, also quizzes and storytelling exercises.
