Congratulations, Summer 2024 Graduands!
Dear INDG Graduates of 2024,
First and foremost – CONGRATULATIONS! Obtaining your undergraduate and/or postbaccalaureate degree is a major life accomplishment that takes dedication, commitment, sacrifices, and probably even a few tears. All of us in the INDG department are tremendously proud of you and will miss you, please do stop by to say hi now and again.
Now that this major step is complete, I bet you are already thinking of your next adventure. Whether that is to continue on to grad school, start a career or continue one, do some traveling or return home, or maybe even spend some time doing nothing, enjoy it. You earned it.
Secondly and probably just as important, I know you will put your degree to good use and effect some change “out there.” No matter how small or how big, change is essential and every little step, every little action, every little change in attitude counts. We are living in a time of reconciliation when the majority of Canadians do not even know what it is we are trying to reconcile. You are now among the minority of people who know, be a good steward of this knowledge-power and use it well.
Please stay in touch and keep us updated in your journey. Take good care and remember all of our relations.
Our Warmest Regards,
Dr. Wenona Hall on behalf of the INDG Department and Staff
Chair, Indigenous Studies
