Emmet is a master's student at Simon Fraser University in the Criminology department. After completing his undergraduate degree in Criminology at Wilfrid Laurier University in Ontario in 2021, he moved to Burnaby to study cybercrime victimization under the supervision of Dr. Frank. His research emphasizes the human factor in cybercrime, exploring the psycho-social explanations of why individuals fall victim to social engineering based cyber scams.
His masters thesis will focus on the role of thoughtfully reflective decision making (TRDM) and cultural values in predicting phishing succeptability, relying on data collected from undergraduate students at SFU and universities worldwide.
