CRIM 481: Advanced Issues in CyberCrime
CRIM 481 covers advanced cybercrime issues through a very in-depth case study of a real cyber-crime investigation. The case-study is done through a true-story novel which will be used as the connecting story to all the topics used throughout this course. Each week we will cover a chapter of the novel, supplemented by online readings that explore some aspect of the story in more depth. During the 13 weeks, we look at a number of current and emerging issues regarding cyber-threats, including online fraud, social networking attacks, online criminal networks and the challenges hindering the good guys. Assignments will center on Tor (the Dark Web).
