Biography
Dionysios Arkadianos is a computational linguist and instructional designer who focuses on online and blended learning environments. Since the beginning of his studies, he has been interested in investigating and exploring the field where the disciplines of Education and Computer Science converge. Educational technology is at the intersection of the two science domains and, therefore, the focal point of his academic interests. Dionysios has worked in the industry as a computational linguist, in projects like the digital thesaurus for Greek, and in the public sector as an elementary school teacher for thirteen years, the last five of which he was seconded to Canada, to support Greek language learning in the diaspora. He has been a part of the SNF Centre since 2014, creating content for online Greek language courses, mediating the Ελληνομάθεια exams, and providing Greek language teaching support. Over the past few years, Dionysios served as the academic coordinator for Staellinika, responsible for the instructional design of the digital learning environment.
