About Me
Hi! I'm Carol Cheuk, an undegraduate student at
Simon Fraser University. I'm
currently completing my Bachelor Science degree in Physical Geography,
as well as completing the Certificate of Spatial Information System.
For the past two years, I've been working as a GIS Co-op at Environment Canada and Ministry of Sustainable Resource Management
(MSRM). The tasks that I did during those two-eight month co-op work terms include: processing
& scrutinzing different geospatial data (image catalogs, grids,
coverages, shapefiles), managing databases in Unix and in Oracle,
producing maps in ArcView and ArcInfo workstation, testing out the new
ArcGIS and programming
in Avenue, AML, and ArcObjects. These valuable fun experiences have
confirmed my interest in pursuing GIS as my career after I graduate
in April 2003. For further details about my GIS works, please visit
my portfolio website.

Last note about me
I completed my last
co-op work term with MSRM in Victoria this April (2002). Since
I worked hard, I took the summer off and rewarded myself to my birth
place "Hong Kong" and a 5-day trip to Shanghai and Huang-zhou. The
following pictures show two highlights during my trip and they were
taken by my boyfriend.
- A view of Hong Kong at the Victoria Peak.
- A view of Shanghai at Wai Tan (The bund) across Huangpui River,
seeing Oriental Pearl TV Tower.
