Vine Maple Research

The Vine Maple Research project is the result of a joint effort between Forest Renewal B.C. and  the Department of Geography at Simon Fraser University. Current research is focusing on the factors which determine the natural distribution of vine maple within old-growth forest stands and on the impact of vine maple on nutrient cycling and conifer growth.  Researchers in this field hope to provide useful information to forest managers on how to incorporate this valuable species into managed forests.
