How You Can Help

The Win-Win Solution could take years to implement. Bureaucracies move slowly. Fortunately, the enormous humanitarian project has been divided into small easy manageable pieces, so individuals and groups who wish to help can do so. There are many ways to help. Here's what you can do:

1. FAMILIARIZE yourself with the material on this Site, then e-mail us. Ask others to do the same. Get on our mailing list.
2. HANDS ACROSS THE PACIFIC - Do some fund raising - Ask your family, church group, or civic organization to get involved. Sponsor a native child or family on Fuga. Organize a fund-raiser. How about a CELEBRITY LUNCH? Maybe a benefit concert?
3. KARIE AND VIOLETA'S TOUR - Get your group together and join Karie & Violeta for the trip of a lifetime, to Violeta's ancestral island, get to know the gentle Fuga families, and help out at the grass roots level. It's fulfilling and good for the soul.
4. CONTACT US - If you or your group have questions, or are willing to support the immediate or long-term needs of the Fuga people, e-mail us.
5. RETURN to this site for updates and locations of public screenings of the documentary - The Silent Natives Of Fuga.
6. ARRANGE A FILM SCREENING - The immediate goal is to screen The Silent Natives Of Fuga across North America and the Philippines (sponsorship is needed). The purpose of the screenings and campaign is: to raise awareness and humanitarian aid, specifically food, medicines, nutritional aid, nurses, and doctors. To arrange a screening in your area followed by a workshop presentation given by the tenacious author and filmmaker Karie Garnier, just e-mail us.
7. ALSO NEEDED:
   • Funding to build an Interim Clinic & Helper's Lodge on the property we already acquired in Claveria (near Fuga).
   • A reliable motor boat - a shuttle service to transport aid workers from the Helper's Lodge in Claveria across the Babuyan Channel to Fuga Island, and to bring the sick from Fuga to the Interim Clinic in Claveria.
   • Radios to link the six villages on Fuga with each other and with the Lodge and Clinic in Claveria. Then requests can be relayed from Fuga to the Lodge and Clinic and if necessary (by phone, fax and e-mail) to Canada, the USA and the world.
   • Administrative assistance - a charitable organization to receive donations and issue tax receipts, an NGO to liaise with supporters of the international consortium.
