BC Hydro President & CEO visits the School of Sustainable Energy Engineering

December 05, 2024

Earlier this week, the School of Sustainable Energy Engineering (SEE) welcomed BC Hydro's President & CEO, Chris O'Riley as a guest lecturer for their Graduate Seminar Course.

His lecture, titled “Power Pathway: Building B.C.’s Energy Future,” provided insights on how the company is increasing electricity generation and expanding the provincial grid. The presentation led to meaningful discussions with our students and faculty on critical topics such as climate emergencies, the energy transition and energy efficiency strategies.

The SEE 897/897 course, led by SEE lecturer Mina Xu this term, fosters a vibrant scholarly community where graduate students engage with their peers and get exposed to cutting-edge research and innovative concepts in sustainability, energy, and engineering. Students in the course are deeply passionate about advancing a sustainable future through their research efforts.
