SFU economics professor Arthur Robson is appointed Fellow of the Canadian Economics Association

Congratulations to Arthur Robson, professor of economics at Simon Fraser University since 2003, who has been appointed a Fellow of the Canadian Economics Association (CEA).

The award, established in 2010, recognizes the achievements and contributions of the most prominent economists in Canada. Professor Robson is the second member of the SFU economics department to receive this award.

Professor Robson received a BSc(Hons) in mathematics from Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, in 1968. He went on to complete his PhD in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1975. He was an assistant, associate, and full professor at the University of Western Ontario before moving to SFU in 2003.

In 2001, he was awarded a Killam Research Fellowship from the Canada Council. He has held visiting positions at University College London, Princeton University, Stockholm School of Economics, New York University, and the University of Chicago.

Professor Robson’s research focuses include the biological evolution of economic behaviour and game theory. When not teaching or working, he enjoys mountaineering and exploring the wilderness.
