MA Economics, 2006
Brendon graduated from Simon Fraser University with a master’s degree in economics in 2006. From there, he joined the Economic Consulting practice of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, eventually heading up a multi-year project to measure the economic impact of the 2010 Olympic Games.
In 2010, Brendon joined the BC Real Estate Association, eventually rising to the role of Chief Economist in 2019. In his role, Brendon communicates trends in the economy and the housing market to the real estate industry, the public, and the government. He often appears in media across television, radio and print including in such publications as the Globe and Mail, Bloomberg and the New York Times.
Brendon learned a love of time series econometrics at Simon Fraser from the late Ramo Gençay and applies those techniques often in his housing market analysis and macroeconomic forecasting. He is a member of the BC Ministry of Finance’s Economic Forecast Council, a contributor to the Philadelphia Federal Reserve's Survey of Professional Forecasters and has been named as one of the 500 most influential business leaders in British Columbia by Business in Vancouver magazine.
