Students' Poster Afternoon (All MET faculty)

Weeks 2-7: MET faculty will give talks on their relevant research areas using recent papers in the literature to focus the discussion. For faculty presentations, there will be approximately 1 h 15 min of lecture, followed by a 15 min break, then 1 h 30 min of discussion. A paper plus a review will be the focus of the lecture (with background material and relevant information from other work included). Students will be marked on their classroom participation in the discussions. Papers will be distributed at least 5 days in advance.

Weeks 8-13: Students will present their topics. Students must decide on their presentation and poster topics by week 7. These topics must be vetted by the faculty organizers. For student presentations, there will be a 40 minute seminar followed by 30 minutes of class discussion, a 15 minute break and the second presentation. The faculty member in charge will evaluate presentations and discussion. Students will distribute relevant papers at least 5 days before their presentation.
