One of the dolls held a straw stick, which was obviously broken in two. I was not sure what this straw stick was supposed to symbolize. It may represent a musical instrument, or part of a spinning whorl or another type cultural artifact. There could have been more missing parts but I had no way of knowing. I was sure the straw reed had been broken so I repaired it. With the consultation of the curator, I whittled down a toothpick to fit inside the straw tube at the two broken ends then glued it in place with white wood glue.
