About Rahul

Rahul Singh is an experienced science and innovation professional with over 15 years of leadership across academia and industry. He is an expert in biological engineering, entrepreneurship and commercialization, and a seasoned strategist and partnership builder. As the Director of the BC Centre for Agritech Innovation, he leads efforts to help the agriculture and agrifood sectors become more sustainable and resilient by adopting innovative technologies that address the pressing challenges of climate change and the economy.

Rahul has worked closely with BC's agriculture, agri-food, forestry, mining and life sciences sectors. He recognizes the technologies that will be integral to BC's globally competitive and sustainable value chain and supports technology translation and commercialization via user-driven programs.

Before joining BCCAI in 2023, Rahul worked at Genome BC, The University of British Columbia, the Atomic Energy Commission in France and the private sector in India. Rahul holds a PhD in Microbiology, a graduate certificate in invention 2 Innovation from The Beedie School of Business at SFU and a mini-MBA from UBC-Sauder.
