Current Research
I am working experimentally with Anopheles gambiae mosquitoes to understand patterns of larval growth and development in an adaptive context. I will test the hypothesis that the extensive developmental plasticity in mosquitoes represents an adaptation for managing a trade-off between juvenile survival and adult size and condition. My research will provide insight into how life histories are shaped and possibly identify aspects of the larval ecology relevant for disease epidemiology and control.
