SSHRC would like to take this opportunity to inform you of the launch of the next Knowledge Synthesis Grants competition linked to the Imagining Canada’s Future initiative.
In this competition, proposals are sought that address the question How will Canada continue to thrive in an interconnected world and evolving global landscape? These grants are not intended to support original research; rather they are intended to support the synthesis of existing research knowledge on the topic and the identification of knowledge strengths and gaps.
The funding opportunity description is currently posted on SSHRC’s website with an application deadline of January 12, 2017 and results will be announced to applicants in March 2017.
We anticipate offering up to 30 awards valued at up to $25,000 each. The synthesis reports are due in October 2017. Successful applicants are expected to attend two knowledge mobilization workshops in Ottawa, the first in May 2017 and the second in November 2017 as part of the Imagining Canada’s Future Fall Forum, to discuss the knowledge syntheses. Travel costs for these meetings must be included in the budget submitted as part of the application. Details on the meetings will be provided to successful applicants.

Le CRSH aimerait profiter de cette occasion pour vous informer du lancement du prochain concours de Subventions de synthèse des connaissances en lien avec l’initiative Imaginer l’avenir du Canada.
Le concours invite les chercheurs à présenter des demandes portant sur la question : Comment le Canada peut-il continuer à réussir dans un monde interconnecté en rapide évolution? Ces subventions ne doivent pas servir à mener de nouveaux travaux de recherche, mais plutôt à soutenir la synthèse de connaissances existantes sur le sujet et l’identification de forces et lacunes.
La description de cette occasion de financement est présentement publiée dans le site Web du CRSH. La date limite de présentation des demandes est le 12 janvier 2017 et les résultats seront annoncés aux candidats au mois de mars 2017.
Nous anticipons attribuer jusqu’à 30 subventions d’au plus 25 000 $ chacune. Les rapports de synthèse devront être achevés au plus tard en octobre 2017. Les candidats retenus devront participer à deux ateliers sur la mobilisation des connaissances à Ottawa, en mai 2017 et en novembre 2017 lors du Forum Imaginer l’avenir du Canada, afin de discuter des synthèses des connaissances. Les frais de déplacement liés à ces ateliers doivent être inclus dans le budget soumis dans le cadre de la demande. Les détails concernant les ateliers seront transmis aux candidats retenus.
