REMINDER: June 13th deadline: Targeted Research on Syrian Refugees + Further Info



Dear Researchers,
 
For those of you that are applying for this funding opportunity, please be advised that although this application is submitted by the applicant (you) via PDF, the instructions call for an institutional signature.
 
ORS has attached the institutional signature page to this e-mail. Please e-mail the following documents to ors@sfu.ca prior to the June 13th deadline:
 
1. A fully signed SFU signature sheet
2. Copy of your proposal
3. The attached institutional signature page signed by you and co-applicants (if applicable)
 
Once these items have been received, Ash Lalani will sign of on the institutional signature page that will form a part of your application. Subject: Call Launched: Targeted Research on Syrian Refugees

The Office of Research Services has received the following information which we are forwarding to our e-mail list members:

Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) are pleased to launch a call for proposals to support peer-reviewed research on Syrian refugee resettlement in Canada.  The key objective of this joint initiative and call is to award supplementary support to active SSHRC funded researchers working in areas related to immigration and refugee resettlement.  The call seeks to support research addressing pressing short-term issues related to the current refugee resettlement effort, in order to inform and support the efforts of policymakers, service organisation and other stakeholders.

Immigration, Réfugiés et Citoyenneté Canada (IRCC) et le Conseil de recherches en sciences humaines du Canada (CRSH) ont le plaisir  de lancer un appel de demandes pour appuyer  la recherche concernant l'arrivée et la réinstallation de réfugiés syriens au Canada. L'objectif principal de cette initiative conjointe est d'offrir un soutien supplémentaire aux chercheurs actifs financés par le CRSH travaillant dans des domaines liés à l'immigration et à la relocalisation des réfugiés. L'appel vise à soutenir la recherche portant sur des questions urgentes à court terme liés à l'effort de réinstallation des réfugiés en cours, dans le but d'informer et de soutenir les efforts des décideurs politiques, l'organisation des services et d'autres intervenants.
