1) Program Related Information
a) New opportunity for early career investigators to gain peer-review experience
CIHR announced the launch of a pilot observer program as part of the Project Grant: Fall 2016 competition for early career investigators (ECIs) who wish to gain peer-review experience. To be eligible to participate in this pilot observer program, the ECI must be within 60 months of their first academic appointment. CIHR is accepting expressions of interest until Wednesday January 25, 2017. Read more

4) Ethics
a) CIHR Standing Committee on Ethics - 2016 in review
The Standing Committee on Ethics (SCE) had another productive year with the publication of its first Ethics Performance Measurement Annual Report. SCE also continued to monitor, identify and address emerging ethical health research issues. Read the year in review and the annual report.

b) CIHR salutes outgoing Chair of the Stem Cell Oversight Committee
CIHR would like to thank the outgoing Chair of the Stem Cell Oversight Committee (SCOC), Dr. Jay Baltz, for his seven years of outstanding service. Dr. Baltz was recruited as a member in 2010, and assumed leadership of SCOC in January 2013. Read more
