A Short Report on a Balloon trip, Oct 19, 1995
Thursday Oct. 19
We had a successful flight on October 19. We left from
264th and North of the freeway and landed in Langley airport.
Winds were North Easterly below 2200 ft and Southerly above that.
We rose to 2800 ft and
were in the air for 1:20, the extra time being due to a stall
100 meters from the landing site. We collected data regarding
pressure, temperature and specifics of the balloon. There
clearly was a warm front coming in, the precurser to today's cyclonic
activity. Unfortunately, both cameras were out of batteries, so
we have no photos or video (too bad!)
There may be further flights if we get either
a few days without rain, or a cold snap in December,
where show will brush off the balloon.
