My primary compositional interest is figurative, in some sense recording aspects of individuals, family and community in the modern day. Where possible, my preference is to show activity or interaction within a group. For example, several of the paintings portray dancers, individually and collectively, from the Vancouver flamenco dance community. The works shown here use a conventionally realistic style, but much of my recent figurative work is drawn from pop art.
