Alpha Mountain, Squamish 36" x 24", acrylic on canvas, 2014.

The Tantalus Range rises dramatically to more than 7000 feet above the Squamish River to the northwest of the town of Squamish, BC. Alpha Mountain is one of many peaks of this range, viewed here from the north along the Squamish Valley Road. The season is early autumn, when the snowpack is minimal and the leaves of the deciduous forest of the valley bottom have started to turn.

Shown below is the original sketch for this work: 15" x 11", acrylic paint on archival paper, 2013.
