In order to make a
sound appear to be located in a particular space, one
needs to convolve the sound with the Impulse Response of
the space, the IR capturing all of the frequency and
temporal characteristics of the space. Convolution uses the FFT algorithm to convert the two waveforms to the frequency domain which allows their strengths to be multiplied with each other. |
