the bottle decrease, the amount of air space increases,
and therefore the resonant pitch gets lower with a
longer wavelength. Note that although the harmonic model is for a tube, the resonance region you're hearing is something broader in frequency than a pure harmonic because of the 3-dimensional shape of the bottle. |
