The Sierra Wireless Mobile Communications Laboratory was founded in 2012 by donation from Sierra Wireless (now Semtech), an IoT company from B.C., Canada. Under the leadership of Prof. Rodney Vaughan, the team conducts research on radio, MIMO communications, antenna theory and design, and audio signal processing. Utilizing the lab’s world-class spherical and planar antenna pattern measurement chambers, the SWMCL has collaborated with the research community as well as with industry partners in fields from microwave food processing to satellite communications.
