IRMaCS
A $12-million interdisciplinary research facility in the mathematical and computational sciences—dubbed IRMaCS—opened its doors at SFU in 2004.
Located above the applied sciences building, IRMaCS is unique in Canada and enhances SFU’s already impressive teaching and research expertise in theoretical computer science, computational pure math and computational applied math.
IRMaCS will provide a flexible, collaborative environment that removes traditional boundaries between scientists whose primary laboratory tool is the computer. The centre will allow SFU to attract top faculty and graduate students.
