CUPC Presentations

3 people attended CUPC 2009 in Alberta.
Gwen: 2nd place for talk
Eric: 3rd place for talk
Carolyn: Honourable mention for poster
Dr. Barbara Frisken (Physics Chair) wants them to give presentations to the department + other students. Will be after 2 on Tuesday or 3:30 on Friday, announced later.

Physics Video Series
--
Dr. Jeff Rudd has Feynman's Messenger lecture series on VHS and says that every physics major has to see them. Idea is to have a common viewing, one lecutre per week. Will be on 3:30 on Fridays, or bumped back in case of PSA meeting.

Science Community Initiative
--
SFSS science wide "student union", works officially as a club at first.
- Lots of benefits for first year students
- science wide socials, Geek Week...
Should we join/send Carolyn to their meetings to represent Physics?

- Planning in the pub after this meeting, attend if you want to

Halloween Day Volunteers

Dr Michael Chen needs some volunteers for Halloween Day activities for the community. Contact him if you want to volunteer.
- Saturday (Halloween) 12-13:30..

Gwen's PSA Logos

Gwen presented all of her ideas, but wants us to narrow them down to 3 that she will work on further.
- We picked:
  - Psi, photon scattering a particle, square well, apple falling into a black hole
  - Specra for spcial ocasions

UPPAC Planning Committee
--
- SFU will host UPACC in spring
- Need help:
  - Planning: Book rooms, get keynote speaker...
  - Running: Hand out stuff on the day of the conference
- Planning Volunteers: Gwen, Carolyn, Karol, Gabe, Marcus

Computer Cleen-up
--
- Scott wants to clean up the harddrives on the PSA computers
- Scott's idea: share the new computers big drive F: on all computers, and store student data there
  - Can access homework from any computer
- Everyone should move their folders on that drive, everything else will be deleted
- Deletions will be done in a couple of weeks.

Pizza Reimbursement
