COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is a survey of some major topics within metaphysics, centred around the questions of the ultimate nature of the world. Readings will range form ancient and Early Modern periods and up to contemporary work. We will focus on several common themes in metaphysics; the nature of time: personal identity; freedom and determinism; and nature of mind.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
- Two papers - 50% total
- In-class writing assignments - 25%
- Final examination - 25%
NOTE: Prerequisite: one of PHIL 100W, 150, 151 or COGS 100.
