Extended to S. Myrle St. 30 SE 01; Run 2 arrived at 10:56 a.m. Extenion officially opened up the day before, but all runs were diesel operated because of a paving project.

Branch lines with the same route number are through routed and modified as indicated in the notes above. Lines terminating downtown include #13 (Main), #43 (Pike), #70 (Main), #36 (Virginia) (Sundays).

Signs also display a "via" sign. These are not shown above.

Note: When a trolley leaves its outer terminus, it shows the route number of the inbound trolley, but the proper destination sign. Close to downtown, the driver changes the route number to the proper number of the destination.

The MAN artics have a dot matrix sign. In at least one case, a new sign appears whereas a similar sign for the rollers in the AMGs has not been made: 44 (to) University Hospital. These trolleys use the new loop at the north end of the Montlake Bridge.

 

Tunnel Dualmode Routes

         All tunnel routes operate in diesel mode on the surface.There is no wiring connection between the tunnel and the surface system. Tunnel open weekdays from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m., extended to 11 p.m. on 1 JN 1998. Cut back to 7 p.m. on 4 FE 2000 due to budgetary cutback. Tunnel route dual-mode trolleys to be replaced with diesel-electric hybrids in 2005 thus ending electrical operation in the tunnel.
